About Us

Who We Are
for clients

The Artists Collective is a dream I’ve had for at least the past 5 years of the 16 I’ve been working in the wedding and photography industry. I wanted to create a brand that could be 100% trusted by clients to provide the best creative product, whether that be for your wedding, your business or your family, along with top notch customer service. Those two rarely go hand in hand and when the best customer service is paired with the best creative product, you have an incredible experience for both the artist and the client. Please take a look at what we have to offer and schedule a discovery call for any of our creative services listed below.

Who We Are
for creatives

I began this dream when I was running Studio This Is; I noticed many of my friends between the 10 and 15 year mark in business tired of running a business. They loved the creative aspects of what they did, loved the clients and the wedding days, but ultimately wearing all the hats of business owner and lead creative wore on them. I started to create a space at Studio This Is for photographers and cinematographers where they could still do what they loved and get paid well without having to worry about the business side of things

To my surprise, as I matured in my career, I loved running the business as much as I loved creating meaningful photographs for my clients. I watched my dream come to life in Chicago and when I moved to San Antonio to start my family and be close to our parents, I knew I wanted to do the same thing here. This is just the beginning, but I hope you’ll follow along as I grow a family of creatives in South Texas not just for weddings but for branding projects, family documentation, and any special mile stone event. Welcome to the Artists collective, and I hope you’ll take a look around at what we have to offer now and follow along as we make updates in the future to our services.

Meet The Team

Nancy Canseco

Owner of The Artist Collective & Photographer

  • I have been taking pictures from a very young age; I remember my first camera - it was neon green - one of those flat cameras for kids in the late 90’s that had weird film you just slipped right in. I was thrilled with it and fervently began photographing; I remember getting my first dslr (a wolf camera I think? ) when I was in the 9th grade. I would style my best friend and take several rolls of that C-41 back and white film 🤓 you could get developed in an hour at Walgreens. We would eagerly go and get it developed immediately. In college, I thought I should major in English, but somehow, I quickly scrapped that and realized my favorite way to tell stories was visually. I always had a hard time expressing exactly what I wanted to express in writing; it never came out as poetically and beautifully as I wanted. But with photography, I felt visually poetic.

I fell into my career of wedding photography at the end of my senior year in college. I honestly had no idea what I was going to do with an art degree and when the opportunity to photograph my first wedding came up, I took it and never looked back. Over the 15 years that I photographed weddings in Chicago, I became known for my ability to capture emotion, to capture authentic moments. As I matured as a photographer I stopped having to think about how to do it, and just intuitively would know where and when to look to get that moment.

On a more personal level, other than being mildly work obsessed and extremely driven to constantly learn new things I have a husband I am madly in love with and a big fluffy dog I might love just as much. We moved to San Antonio during the pandemic in 2020 leaving behind our meticulously rehabbed 1890’s cottage in Logan Square but gaining a beautiful 1935 craftsman style home in Beacon Hill.

Paola Longoria

  • Paola has also been a photography lover from a young age; she spent her youth with a camera documenting her family. Those photos are her treasures and inspired by that she continued on to pursue photography as a career.

She is now an accomplished commercial photographer and cinematographer, who has a passion for capturing life's special moments. With a BFA in photography from the San Antonio Art Institute, she brings a wealth of experience to our team, including 9 years of filming weddings, music videos, short films, and commercial photography for clients like New York Life, SAMA, San Antonio Botanical Gardens, as well as a number of smaller local businesses in San Antonio.
